Been a minute

Did some sketches in my little sketchbook the other night. Playing around with a bit more stylizing. I took some inspiration from some old drawings I saw while I was in a museum in Korea. This one map had this cool water texture that I tried to copy for the first drawing, I like how it came out, going to try it out with a bigger piece next. I went with more cartoony solid like clouds that I think go with the new water style. For the second drawing I just drew a more traditional Korean house. Mostly playing with making things like the house and trees look simple in shape and detail. The perspective is off, but hey, just quick sketch.

The coloring in first one is sloppy, still can't color in the lines after all these years...

Friday night sketch. Its not really of anything special, but there it is none the less.

Been studying all weekend for today's midterm. My brain has been melted by the power of linguistics. So I present to you, hungry thor. For no other reason than that's all I could think to draw. 

Just messing around. 

And we're back! I started watching this historical Korean drama series, got me thinking about that time period and revamping this story I had written a while back to fit more in line with that time. Changing the main character into a human from a weird little green alien would be one of the biggest changes. Anyway, behold.. The Fisherman.

Added some color, looks okay. Not a fan of the tree. Changed the foot cause it was bugging me.

Another quick sketch. Got some school stuff piling up, so gotta get that done. Still on that DJ battle thing. Its a fun concept to work with. Can go ahead and make some outrageous characters and what not. I wouldn't say this guy is particularly outrageous, but I've got some other ideas to put out there. Happy Friday. 

In the future clubs will not only feature DJs mixing music, but also summoned creature battles. Why you ask? Well why the hell not. Another quick sketch today, this concept is completely rediculous and hilarious. I think I'm going to mess around with color on this one, get to look a bit more finished and possibly more epic.

I sort of regret the use of those super dark thick pen lines.. oh well. 

새해 복 많이 받으세요: Happy New Year, lunar that is.

Tomorrow is the lunar new year in Korea and the other countries that celebrate it. So in honor of this occasion I decided to do this sketch. Trying to work with just color.. mostly because I hate using it. Anyway, if you celebrate the lunar new year, have a fantastic one, if not, enjoy your weekend regular style.
